Overall the lathe is 14 inches L x 4 inches W. It is made of a very sturdy plastic in a soft tan color so it will not interfere with your color perception as you decorate your object. There are a number of useful aids built into the lathe as well. Each cup has four equally spaced marks on the rim to act as indicator points for dividing your decorating project into sections. Also, the foam washer in the end of the cups have different size doughnut holes to help facilitate objects that may protrude from the surface of your project such as the cap end of a Christmas ornament. Instructions are included with the lathe and it is individually boxed in a sturdy cardboard container for easy storage when not in use.
